As the capital of Tyrol, Innsbruck has excellent transport connections by train, plane and car. The city is easy to reach both on public transport and by car.

In the city, you can get around conveniently and safely on foot, or by bike, bus or tram. 

 

By train

Innsbruck Central Station is a hub for European north-south and east-west rail traffic. As such, international long-distance trains from Munich, Vienna, Zurich and Verona, as well as all regional trains, stop at Innsbruck Central Station. You can get to Congress Innsbruck in just 5 minutes by taxi, bus or suburban train, or you can treat yourself to a relaxing walk, which will take you to Congress Innsbruck in just 15 minutes.

By aeroplane

Innsbruck Airport is located around four kilometres from the city centre and can be reached by car in 10 to 15 minutes. It offers a variety of national and international flight connections, including several daily direct flights to and from Berlin, Brussels, Frankfurt, London, Rotterdam, Stockholm and Vienna. In addition to the scheduled flights, there are also seasonal charter flights. There are six car hire companies at Innsbruck Airport that offer a wide selection of vehicles. Thanks its excellent location, the city centre can also be accessed easily and conveniently by public transport (bus line F).

Munich Airport (MUC) is not only one of the largest airports in Germany, but also an important transport hub for travelers to Innsbruck and Tyrol. With its strategic location, only about 160 kilometers from Innsbruck, the airport offers a variety of travel options. 

 

By tram and bus

Bus line F runs between Innsbruck Airport and Innsbruck Central Station (journey time approx. 15 minutes). From the central station, you can take regional bus line 540 directly to the congress venue’s main entrance (“Congress / Hofburg” bus stop) or you can walk (approx. 15 minutes). Other bus and tram stops on various lines are also within walking distance of Congress Innsbruck.

By bike

It is particularly easy to get around Innsbruck on Stadtrad rental bikes. Just register at www.stadtrad.ivb.at or via the “nextbike” app: there you will also find details of all hire and return stations. Bicycle parking is available at the main entrance and in front of the Haus der Musik.

 

By car

A guidance system leads you easily and directly from the motorway exits through Innsbruck to Congress Innsbruck. The entrance to the Congress underground car park is located right next to the main entrance (Herrengasse / Rennweg entrance). There are also two electric vehicle charging points there.
